Pensions make fundamental changes to investment portfolios

Filed in Asset Management , Industry News

Recent research conducted by SEI indicates that fundamental changes are afoot in how pensions structure their portfolios.

Pensions increase asset allocation to Alternatives

An SEI ‘Quick Poll’ has found a significant increase in the percentage of pension portfolios investing in alternatives when compared to the previous four years of asset allocation.

2011:

  • Almost eight out of 10 (78 per cent) of pensions had some allocation to alternatives in their portfolio.
  • Allocations to alternatives totaling greater than 10 per cent of the overall portfolio have decreased since 2010.
