Technology trends are quickly evolving how asset managers and their advisors communicate and service their client relationships. While the industry as a whole continues to transform from a very print-centric communications approach, new technology offerings are moving at a breakneck pace.
I wanted to highlight what I see as two top trends:
- Emergence of multi-channel client communications for affluent clients:
Almost 60% of those who use advisors have communicated with their primary advisor using three or more different channels in the past 12 months.
- Advisor level video and audio conferencing:
Conferencing technology has become both common place as well as cost effective. Now many advisors can look to self-service video and audio offerings as a means to communicate with their clients. If a home/central office is not enabling advisors with video and audio conferencing technology, advisors can cheaply implement it on their own.
